Target group: teachers, lecturers, masters of education, leaders and administrative staff of colleges in Kazakhstan

Aim of the project: The aim of the project is to enhance the soft skills, teaching practices, and motivation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) teachers. Through targeted interventions and comprehensive professional development content, the project seeks to empower TVET teachers with the necessary tools and competencies to excel in their roles, ensuring high-quality instruction and positive learning outcomes for students. By addressing the needs and aspirations of TVET teachers, the project aims to create a supportive and safe environment that promotes the growth and success of all educators in the TVET sector in Kazakhstan.

Target Group: The target group for this project includes both female and male TVET teachers from Kazakhstan. 

Set-Up of the Project:

Duration of the Project: 45 hrs

Modules:

Soft skills (21 hrs):

  1. Emotional Intelligence (6 hrs)
  2. Time management (3 hrs)
  3. Interpersonal Communication and Conflict Resolution (6 hrs)
  4. Boundaries and Burnout Management (6 hrs)

Professional skills (24hrs)

  1. Teaching techniques (12 hrs)
  2. Practicum (12 hrs)

Role of the mentors: Mentors serve as a source of support and encouragement for TVET teachers and assist teachers in effectively implementing the theoretical concepts and practical skills they have acquired during their training and their practicum work at the working places.

Program Learning Outcomes:

  1. Recognize the importance of self-care and emotional well-being and apply this in their teaching practice; 
  2. Apply strategies to maintain work-life balance, and promote personal well-being; 
  3. Develop and demonstrate techniques to regulate and control emotions, particularly in challenging situations, strategies to handle stress, frustration, and conflicts constructively;
  4. Clearly understand personal boundaries, including emotional, physical, and professional boundaries. Demonstrate insights into personal values, limits, and comfort zones;
  5. Develop and apply effective communication skills, active listening, and collaboration techniques. Resolve conflicts and foster a supportive learning environment;
  6. Demonstrate intrinsic motivation and commitment to professional growth by setting meaningful goals, persisting in the face of challenges, and inspiring others through enthusiasm and a positive attitude;
  7. Develop and apply pedagogical skills through a focus on innovative teaching methodologies, learner-centered approaches, innovative assessment methods, and the integration of online learning tools and AI in and outside the classroom; 
  8. Develop and demonstrate and apply techniques to motivate and inspire students, increasing their involvement and interest in the learning process;
  9. Demonstrate the ability to create dynamic and interactive learning environments that promote active engagement and skills development among colleagues and students.
