Aim of the Project: The project is designed to engage and empower young female learners from TVET institutions who are interested in building a career in the hospitality field. The focus of the programme is self-development where young female learners, through learning professional, social and psychological skills, can work on their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Target Group: TVET female students between 16 and 21 years old with a specialization in the hospitality field in Almaty. The target audience must have a genuine interest in the hospitality industry, including fields such as hotel management, culinary arts, event planning, tourism, and customer service. They also may have aspirations to build a career in this industry or simply seek to acquire valuable skills and knowledge. The target audience may have diverse career goals within the hospitality industry. Some may aspire to become hotel managers, chefs, or event planners, while others may have a broader interest in gaining transferable skills that can be applied in multiple sectors. The project will address these varying aspirations and provide relevant content.

Set-up of the Project:

Duration of the program: 9 months

Modules: 

  1. Restaurant module (50 hrs)
  2. Hotel module (50 hrs)
  3. Self-esteem (10 hrs)
  4. Motivation and Responsibility (10 hrs)
  5. Goal-setting (8 hrs)
  6. Critical Thinking (8 hrs)
  7. Effective Communication (8 hrs)
  8. Teamwork (8 hrs)
  9. Emotional Intelligence (8 hrs) 

Role of the mentors: Mentors assist students in identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. They provide advice on developing essential skills, setting goals, and creating action plans to enhance personal and professional development. 

Final project: The final project for the educational program in the hospitality field is designed to provide an opportunity to apply their knowledge, skills, and creativity.

Programme Learning Outcomes

  1. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the HORECA industry, including its structure, trends, challenges, and career opportunities;
  2. Demonstrate understanding of the principles of hospitality management, including front office operations, housekeeping, food and beverages, sale, and marketing departments; 
  3. Develop and apply adaptability and problem-solving abilities to handle challenging situations, resolve conflicts, and make quick decisions in the HORECA industry
  4. Foster self-awareness and self-regulation through recognizing and managing personal traits – strengths, weaknesses, emotions, and desires;
  5. Build confidence in one’s abilities, ideas, and decision-making skills and overcome self-doubt and develop a positive self-image;
  6. Develop and apply teamwork, self-presentation, public speaking, and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers in a HORECA environment;
  7. Apply logical reasoning and critical thinking skills to make informed decisions;
  8. Develop and apply resilience skills to adjust to changing environments and overcome obstacles; 
  9. Develop and apply a growth mindset and embrace continuous learning;
