About us

KFCSED — Kazakhstan Foundation for Cultural, Social and Educational Development — is a non-profit public foundation registered in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Foundation was founded on 30 December 1999 and has since been empowering women and communities through education, mentorship, and cultural initiatives.

What we strive for

To help millions of women in Kazakhstan unlock their potential. We aim to change how they see themselves, provide new knowledge and skills, broaden their horizons, and teach them to think in new ways.

Our approach

Every KFCSED program combines three elements that set us apart: professional skills training delivered by practitioners, social-emotional learning grounded in validated psychological tools (Rosenberg, Maddi, Crumbaugh & Maholick), and individual mentorship. Participants don’t just learn — they grow. After each program, they carry knowledge back into their schools, workplaces, and communities, multiplying impact.

Focus on women

Despite meaningful progress in education, significant challenges persist in Kazakhstan — particularly high rates of violence against women, their continued underrepresentation in leadership and government roles, and a persistent gender wage gap. Addressing these issues requires concerted efforts and targeted initiatives aimed at strengthening gender equality and safeguarding women’s rights in Kazakhstan.

Partnership with Kazakhstan’s state TVET institutions

Since 2008, KFCSED has collaborated with state technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions across Kazakhstan. Our initiatives are regularly integrated into key national education events — such as the Department of Education’s annual August Conference, National Teachers’ Forums (Qurultay), and state initiatives to advance vocational education, including the Year of Vocational Professions (2025). Programs are delivered in Russian and Kazakh, both online and offline.

As a reliable partner combining international experience with local values, we promote social partnership and work hand in hand with state institutions to shape the future of vocational education in Kazakhstan.
